Captiva Island, located off the coast of Florida, has always been one of my favorite places to travel for a spring break trip. My family has been there many times, and although there are many places to visit there, we always find ourselves returning to our favorite spots. On of our most beloved restaurants is called the Bubble Room. They serve their signature bread called Bubble bread as well as massive cinnamon rolls before you get started on your actual meal. The entrees are fantastic, and for dessert there are multiple types of cakes that come in humongous slices. And to add to that, in the Bubble Room, its Christmas all year round. The wait staff are dressed as "Bubble Scouts" with crazy hats and outfits similar to what boy scouts wear on, and all around the restaurant there are these great, tacky decorations from the '50s. The tables are shadow boxes with even more decorations in them to entertain you as you wait for your food to come. Another place we love is called the Key Lime Bistro. We always eat outside where the live music is, which is a fantastic experience. The food is equally fantastic and the staff are always incredible. After we eat our dinner its always time to head down to the beach and enjoy one of Captiva's beautiful sunsets.

Captiva Island is also known for its spectacular shells. My mom in particular loves to wake up early in the morning and go hunting for them before anyone else is awake. I'm not much of a shell person myself but I always love to see what my mom can find. At my home we have many bowls filled with these shells, sand dollars, starfish, and other fascinating things we've found on the beach.

Captiva will always have a special place in my heart because of all the incredible food, sights, and memories I have eaten, seen, and made there. Now that most of my siblings have moved away from home, I look back on vacations like those in Captiva with great fondness because there are times when I'm not really sure when we'll be all together next.
